All the complaining about this not being "real" flannel? Good grief! This is a gorgeous material - yes, thin - but tight weave, high-quality, soft AND absolutely lovely flannel. Think about it, people. They couldn't have produced the beautiful detailing on the front and back if they'd used a thick flannel. Zoom in to the photo! It's called DESIGN! Everything about this nightgown is quality. I turn off the heat vents in my bedroom in winter, because I love sleeping in this nightgown, snuggled into LLBean comforters and flannel sheets. Speaking of sheets, maybe too many people are used to the thick LL Bean sheets and thought they were going to use THAT material to make a nightgown? I own two of these, and came back for a third. I feel feminine in this nightgown because of the flow of the fabric. Thanks, LL Bean for great quality AND design!
I was surprised to discover that they call this flannel, as it's very light weight. It also runs very long!! Too bad they didn't have a petite. I had to alter it making it about 6-7 inches shorter so I could walk and not trip over the fabric. I got size small and it was still much too long. Though, I'm keeping it as it is beautiful!!
I've been wearing versions of this nightie for years until they wear out. Bought one last year and another this year. Ordered the same size, but this new one is definitely a more "generous fit" than last year--at least 1" longer shoulder seam, and longer sleeves, which I roll up anyway. Seems the fabric is getting thinner and thinner, but it's still a great nightie, especially to wear without a robe.
