This is my second nightgown. I wore out the first- my elbows poked through after 4 years of heavy use! Now it it being used as cleaning rags. The fit is great. It is nice and long to curl up in. The sleeves are also long enough so there are no 'forearm drafts'. It is a traditional nightgown that you might find on Little House on the Praire, not sexy but oh so comfy. As others mentioned the flannel is not the thick type like flannel sheets, it is a thinner but still warm. I am the type of gal who will wear something to tatters if I like it. I'm working on this one now!
Bought this as a birthday gift for my wife. Wanted to surprise her with a quality nightgown to replace the one she had worn for years that she brought over from Italy. When she first tried it on we could not believe that it was flannel and it seemed to light too keep you warm on a cold night. Well it fit the bill she had to put it aside for when it gets colder. Overall it seems like great quality it will have to stand up to the test of time, most of the reviews seemed positive which made me purchase from LLbean. Could not find better quality anywhere. So far she seems happy.
This nightgown is long, and very full. The pin tucks are extensive, and there are plenty of buttons. It does have an old fashioned look to it. The cotton fabric seems a bit heavy to me, though. And even after dozens of washings, it's not as soft as I would have hoped. It has held up quite well, though. I would have given the nightgown five stars if it had a softer, lighter fabric.
