This is a beautiful nightgown, but I was disappointed to find that it is not made of the soft, brushed flannel I was expecting. Wish the description had made that clear. The final straw was that it came out of the dryer looking awful. I rarely iron, and I'm certainly not going to iron my nightgown. I'm returning it. Wish there could be a suggestion that ironing is needed when an item so obviously needs it.
I have to admit, I really hesitated to purchase this nightgown due to the price. But, I LOVE it. The picture makes the background appear off white, but it's actually more tan, which makes the nightgown appear more vintage. I love that there are pleats on the back bodice that coordinate with the front. It gives the lower part of the gown fullness so I can spread it out in bed & curl my legs up inside with plenty of room. The fabric isn't really flannel, but it's heavy enough to be warm & comfortable. Again, it makes it look more vintage. And the attention to detail is fantastic.
This is the second one of this style nightgown that I have ordered. Some of the reviews mentioned that it was scratchy - well, it is, at first. After a few washings it is wonderful! Actually, it is so cold here that I often wear long underwear under my nightgown, so I don't notice the roughness until spring. I love the pleats and the vintage look!
