I love nightgowns, especially flannel ones from LL Bean. However, this was a HUGE disappointment. Rough, dull in color. I washed it before wearing, hoping it would soften up. No luck. I returned it. Hope LL Bean has a real flannel nightgown offering next year.
ProsDurable, Great Value, Comfortable, comfortable and warm
If you love a warm flannel nightgown, this is the one. They are roomy and they don't shrink up to your knees the way department store nightgowns tend to do. There is no elastic in the cuffs to get stuck halfway up to your elbow in the middle of the night. When I put one on before bed I am delighted in it's cozy comfort. I've bought six over the past 10 years and worn the first two out.
ProsDurable, Great Value, Comfortable, beautifully made
At last I've forced myself actually to wear my new nightgown: admiring the uncommonly skilled workmanship was enough gratification for the first week. What I found is that the fabric is excellent (unlike most outing flannel these days), the design is gratifyingly nostalgic (as in elegant, not mawkish), and the comfort on a chill night is bountiful (pure and simple). If you're a woman, you may need one of these, even if you think you don't particularly. And if you're a man, get one for someone nice, or for someone who isn't (this well-crafted, utilitarian, handsome piece of raiment just might be able to modify the attitude of a gorgon).
