I have three of these in different colors, and am thinking about purchasing the newer one. I've had them about 3 years and they are softer than when I received them. I also wear them as a light robe over a nightie. I answer the door in them as they provide great coverage. The pin tucking gives modesty for the bust area. I am 5 foot tall, and they nearly reach the floor for me, just right for tucking in my feet in my recliner. I feel elegant. Buy with confidence, I love them all.!
I ordered one, loved it, and ordered a second (both in the cheery red/white color). I WAS surprised that it was not made from the thick soft warm flannel I've come to expect from LL Bean. I'd like to have the same style available in Bean's wonderful heavier weight flannel. On the bright side, I realized these are a perfect weight for a warmer weather bathrobe. The flocking and pattern are very feminine - and to my delight it did not shrink to a shorter length, even after several trips through the washer and dryer.
I love these nightgowns and have ordered a few. They become more perfect with age. I used the original red and white dolby in a quilt that begged for that particular color and pattern only to discover I could not replace it. I hope you bring that one back soon.
I had to replace my old flannel nightgown from another company after only a few years. I thought that nightgown was pretty well made, until I received this stellar beauty! There is no comparison.
