I bought this as a Christmas gift to myself. :) And I really love it! I am enamored with the cozy fabric that's truly vintagey, and not quite typical modern flannel (it's not as nappy/plush as regular flannel). Side note: I would love to have a double-ply throw made out of this vintage flannel!
Also, I'm hot-natured and I find that it's warm without being too hot. I love that I can open the buttons on the neck and wrists and roll up the sleeves when I don't want to be quite as warm.
It seems true to size (I'm normally a size 18-20 and I got the 1X), was an appropriate length (I'm 5'6") and it didn't shrink very much at all.
In summation, yeah, it's not for those nights when you want to look irresistible to your partner (ahem) but if it's cool outside and you're dying to shed the clingy constricting daytime clothing and snuggle up with something perfectly comforting and easy to wear, this IS your nightgown.
I have two of these. Love the fit, the length and the weight of the flannel. I have had two other nightgowns from llbean and wore them for many years before they finally, quite literally, wore out! I expect these to last many years also! They are the best! True to size!
This is a pretty nightgown, nice roomy fit, good length, neatly done pintucks--all on the pattern stripes, so very nice visual effect. I love dobby (woven-in) patterns and this one is very pretty. Love that the sleeves have buttons so I can roll them up. BUT the fabric is not flannel. It's a very lightly-brushed twill. So it is not as soft and warm as a flannel gown.
