This nightgown is advertised as flannel, but it's not. It's made of a hard smooth cotton which is not particularly warm. This is a misrepresentation that LL Bean should address.
True to LLBean tradition, this gown is made of beautiful, high quality flannel. Purchased as a gift for my mother and know that she will love it. I ordered the blue and it's really pretty. Also got the wicked good slippers so she'll be having a toasty Christmas!
Just bought the wife her third of this item for Christmas as they offered it in a new color. She has had the other two for a number of years and they wear very well. She has commented on how cozy they are and how pleased she is with them. Don't tell her she is getting a new one for Christmas!
Very comfortable, nice old-world style. I live in RI and it gets very cold lately and when I put it on I'm so comfy. When my husband saw it he wanted me to get another one for his mother for Christmas but I said no and I won't give mine up either! One of the things I like is if anyone sees me (I own a B & B) it is not obvious I don't have a bra on because of the pleats so that is an extra bonus. The sleeves are nice and long the way I like them. I wear a S or M and this is a M and is fine - runs comfortable fit so don't go a size larger for comfort unles syou like lots of extra room.
