I bought one last year, when the weather turned bitterly cold. I was so delighted with it, I tried to order a second one ... but they were sold out. So, this year I jumped on the chance to get it in a different colour: It is wonderful and warm when you want to read in bed.
This gown is attractive, comfortable, and warm. It is sized loosely and does fall just above my ankles as advertised (I'm 5'5" and got an XL). The extra-long placket camouflages drooping body parts.
Other reviews say it is not flannel, but it is a lightly napped flannel. The raising of the nap on the front is slighter than some, but it is present.
Even though it is light flannel, I find it still to be very warm. I think because it covers so much of the body area, that a heavier flannel might be uncomfortably warm.

I bought these nightgowns 5 years ago, and they have now lasted me through three pregnancies and all in between. I love them because they are; soft, even after so many washings; long, but not so long they get in the way; warm for our cold winters; and I really like that the buttons in front allow plenty of room for nursing. They do shrink up a bit in the arms and overall length in the dryer. I bought xl (usually I wear large) and had ample room even 9 months pregnant. I recently puchased the new blue color and it is beautiful. I did not notice a size discrepency between it and the old ones. I highly recommend this nightgown!
