ProsComfortable, dobby fabric
This nightgown has a vintage look with soft stripes and pintucked folds on back and front. The blue XL is roomy, even after a shrinkage of about 10%. The cuffs are loose, buttoned with no pinching elastic. The cut of the gown is like a sleepshirt and not straight across. However, the fabric is NOT flannel. I have two sets of flannel sheets from LLBean so I know what Bean's flannel is like. This is a dobby fabric, attractive but not flannel. Five stars for style, zero stars for not being flannel, two stars overall.

Great Expectations and Fond Memories

Made a nightgown just like this 35 years ago; so had both high expectations and fond memories of soft, cuddly, and warm.
Received the LL Bean package yesterday. The gown was voluminous; ordered a PL; should have ordered a PM or PS.
The fabric is unlike the flannel of the past, maybe because of fire retardant treatments needed today.
And, when I pulled it over my head, I noticed a smell inside the gown; maybe that would go away when washed. Didn't really matter.
The gown is going back: way too big; not what expected in terms of softness; and the smell should not have been there anyway.
I'm an LLBean cheerleader and will continue to be.
