Sizing is ridiculous

I first purchased this in the size large (I am a size 14-16 and wear other LLBean items in large).
When it came it was enormous -- I could have fit 4 of myself in it.
I returned it and bought a small and it is still at least twice as big as I would need.
Something is very wrong in the sizing of this item.

Vintage Flannel Nightgown

I LOVE this nightgown. It's warm, comfortable, and made for sweet dreams. The design details and construction are top-notch.

I don't consider the material to be flannel and not that warm. When I washed it I hoped it would soften up but it didn't. I think it is well made. I am 5'4". The gown hits me at the ankle and wrist. I also have the Tartan Flannel Nightgown which is warmer, softer and feels likes flannel.

This night gown is so comfortable that I can hardly wait for cooler weather to arrive so I can enjoy it! I highly recommend it.
