I have purchased three of these gowns over many years. The quality of the flannel on my recent purchase is not the same. The fabric is thinner and not as soft. I like the gown because it is long and I am 5' 9" (although the gown definitely shrinks in length even when following LL Bean's washing instructions -wash on cold and dry on low). Because of the shrinkage in length, I wish the gown was available in a Tall. The new blue color is nice.
I bought the blue one and I love it. Super soft and not too long (no tripping on the hem). BUT, it is very roomy. I bought a large when a medium would have been better fitting, but I love it still. Look forward to using it over and over again during the upcoming winter.
I ordered this vintage style nightgown in crystal blue & am very pleased with both the color & the outstanding quality & attention to detail. It has a generous fit. I have not washed or dried it yet, but expect it will shrink slightly in length. I'm 5'8" & this gown comes to just above my ankles. I think of myself as average height, but I always have a difficult/impossible time finding a really "long" long nightgown. And the fabric is not flannel. It is a nice cozy weight, but not what I would call the flannel we remember from childhood.
I wanted this night gown for over a year now & finally was able to purchase my size petite small but was I disappointed. PLEASE BE AWARE if you're 5ft/120lbs do not buy this gown. The sleeves were way too long & the sweep way too big. My 250lb hubby fit into it. I do like room with my sleep garments but this style & fit was awlful. Please make XXS in this garment for the petite gals in the world because it is a pretty night gown. Needless to say it is going back & I wish I had read a review like the one I posted here.
