ProsDurable, Great Value, Comfortable, roomy, warm
Ok - I don't really know what the "quality" of nightgowns was like in the 1800's - but I am sure it was great as things would be made to last and this is!! I got one of these as a xmas gift several years ago and wear it constantly, except for wash days, during our cold winter. I just wash and dry it with the rest of the laundry (I don't remember what the laundry instructions are). It is expensive for my budget - but I just love it so much!! It has retained it's size, where so many nightgowns just shrink to nothingness! It is still soft and warm. I am indulging myself by finally buying a second one - the first is still doing fine, but every year I wait with fear in my heart that these will no longer be made and I couldn't bear a winter without one - so I'm getting my back up one now.
I love this nightgown. It is so soft, comfortable and warm. I also love the fact that there is no elastic in the cuffs. But I did have to cut out the cheap plastic tags which were used for the French and Chinese washing instructions and the flammable warning. No big deal but don't understand why they use that cheap product on a wonderful garment!
This gown is true to size; the shrinkage is minimum so you can wear it wash after wash and it will still be comfortable, soft and keep you warm. It will shrink lengthwise, but not significantly--just a few inches. These are my favorite because there is no elastic on the arms, high neck, nice flannel.
