Love this nightgown, but the color is not what I expected. The background to the red threads is not white, but is instead a light tan. A white background would have been prettier. Is the blue the same way?
This vintage gown fits more closely than the tartan flannel gown, so it is warmer and less drafty. Both are generously sized with lots of fabric.
I expected this to be soft, warm, well-made and sturdy -- and it is. But I'm swooning over the details. The fabric's pattern is subtle and pretty. Pin-tucking front AND back make it feminine but not fussy. I love the shirttail hem instead of a ruffle at the bottom! The fit is perfect -- plenty of room to move/lounge, but it manages to seem tailored instead of tent-like. Blissful comfort!
Eight female members of our family have these soft and cuddly red flannel nightgowns. We wear them especially when we have family reunions and then call ourselves the "The Red Flannel Nightgown Gang".
