I am a larger woman.. size 16-18, and my size goes up and down a bit over time. Over the last 10-12 years I have had three of these nightgowns in size XL and plus size. I am almost 5'7" and the sleeves are never long enough. Almost, but not long enough. Otherwise, it's a lovely soft warm quality flannel, and I love the stitching style. I am writing this in the red one, and I love it, but I have one sleeve unbuttoned so that the whole nightgown doesn't pull.
I would recommend this lovely warm and comfy vintage nightgown. It has been keeping me warm for the past ten years. I buy a new one every year.The price has nearly doubled even with free shipping and $10. gift cards. It is a luxury item now. The olds ones are recylable to make good rags as 100% cotton. They really adapt to the length of my arms, the length of the gown is right. (not too long to kill yourself in the steps going upstairs to sleep). The neck keeps you warm when buttoned and sexy when unbuttoned. Try them you will keep buying. Regarding the colours, the pastel colours are easier to wash with anything. Hope the pale pink becomes available again. joan
I have been ordering various colors of this nightgown for years, and I have quite a collection at this point. They are my go-to on every cold night, both for comfort and natural flannel warmth. They wear extremely well and become softer with washings. Bonus: they are "flowy", so they don't bind nearly as much as other nightgowns when turning over at night. I am normally a Misses XL in Bean clothing, but am quite comfortable in Large for this item.
I purchased this style probably 15 years ago, still own the original and have worn it to death! It is still in great shape after all these years of wearing and washing. I was worried that a new one wouldn't match the quality of the first one. Well. I needn't have worried, it's the same. To those who feel it's "not really flannel", wash it before you wear it. It seems to bring out the "nap". I would like to purchase a couple more, hoping the blue and lavender come back in stock. Planning to wash my new one on cold delicate so that it lasts 15 years like my old one.
