Have bought from L.L. Bean for years because of their classic clothing and quality. Bought the Barberry and Lavender color gowns and love them. The material is medium weight-warm enough that we can keep our heat turned down but not too heavy were I would get hot at night. I bought a large because I like my pajamas a bit on the large side and it fits true to size. I'm 5'8" and about 125 lbs. I would have loved it if this had been a bit longer or if they carried it in "tall" sizes because it hits me midcalf and I like my gowns to be down to ankles or so. My legs get cold due to the length. However, this is still a great gown and I'd highly recommend it.
While this flannel nightgown is very nice it would be so much better if the cotton flannel fabric was heavier and if the nightgown had two big comfy front pockets. With those two things added this nightgown would be great.
There is PLENTY of room in this nightgown; it won't bind you while you sleep.After talking with customer service, it seemed that this was the more fitted of the two flannel nighgown styles. It is comfortably roomy in the bodice, but from the ribcage down it balloons out and you feel as if you are in a bag. It looks nice though and you can greet guests in it and not feel as if you are revealing anything. They say that it will shrink a little. I plan to put it in hot water and on a hot dryer setting to give it every chance to do so. The fabric is lovely. Light and soft, but only slightly fuzzy.
