This gown brings back childhood memories of chilly upstairs bedrooms at Nana's house in Maine. It was always a special treat after a wonderful supper to have that special hot bath in the big claw footed tub followed by a fresh, long, cozy flannel gown and being tucked into bed with love and a mountain of wool blankets woven somewhere "up north". The gown is warm and cozy, plenty long enough and modest in its design. I especially like the fullness that allows movement without giving that confined feeling under the bed linens. This is definitely made for "the long winter's nap"! I love it! Thanks for the memories, LLB!
Like other dedicated LLBean customers, I've purchased this nightgown for years. This year, the fabric felt flimsier, the color was definitely not the same as shown online, and the sizing was HUGE. I've always purchased the same size and this year's gown literally was like 2 sizes larger. Due to disappointment I returned my two gowns. I'm contemplating sizing down, but am learning not to trust the colors pictured on LLBeans website. I hope that someone can rectify this. Other products ordered this year have also not matched what they appear online, and I read this from other's reviews as well.
I bought this nightgown to stay warm during our cold Colorado winters. We just had -14 degrees temperatures and I can tell you I was very warm! Two things to be aware of: First, the lavender color is significantly more muted than the internet picture. Secondly, I ordered the Petite size because I am only 5'3". However, I still had plenty of length for the Misses' (reg.). I exchanged the Petite for the regular Misses' length. Note that it was necessary to call LLBean for the lengths of the Petite and the Misses'. There is only a 3" difference. The Misses' regular fell just above my ankles, which is the length I wanted. I hope this is helpful information for short women about 5'3"-5'5".
