This lovely nightgown exceeded my expectations. Roomy without bulk, the tucking elegantly integrated with the pattern of the fabric, it is a real gem. sizing is generous, but not too long-- the petite ended above my ankles and I am 5'3''.
I had one of these years ago and wore it to death. So decided to try one again. I washed it as I do with anything new and when i put it on I started to squirm. The seams around the neck and bodice are itchy scratchy. It must be the threads used? I don't know. But I lasted 3 minutes in this and I will be sending it back tomorrow. What a shame. It used to be a great nightgown.
This is not a thick flannel gown like I'm used to wearing in cold weather so I hope it does the job. It is very well made, very roomy and falls just above my ankles (I'm 5'5"). I have worn and washed it twice with no shrinkage and got softer with each washing. It is now soft and cozy. We have not had any bitter cold nights yet but seems like it will be warm. I hope so because it is so comfortable I will be ordering another one.
I was disappointed in the material the nightgown was made of. I had bought two flannel nightgowns from LLBean years ago and loved them. They lasted over 10 yrs. The new one I purchased was not a soft brushed flannel like the ones I had previously. It's a heavy weighted nightgown, but not soft, warm and cozy feeling like I had before. I did not return the nightgown, as I needed one, but am disappointed in the feel of the material.
