I love these nightgowns for the winter! Cozy & warm for those bitter cold days & nights in NJ. They do run big so order accordingly. I am 4'11 and ordered PL. Minimal shrinkage. I'm good to go with my UGGs. Bring on the winter!
We are fans of most L.L. Bean products ... However this nightgown has been sent back.
It did not have any of the flannel nap or soft flannel feel that we have come to expect from L.L. Bean's flannel sheets, etc. In fact the fabric seemed more like kitchen towel fabric....the kind of towel one displays but does not use because it is stiff and scratchy.
I read all of the reviews looking for size guidance. Based on what I read in reviews and the size guidance from the company, I ordered a medium. I am 5'4" and wear a confortable size 12. After washing in cold water and line drying, the gown length hangs at mid-calf and is a bit snug on top. I like roomy PJs so I would go up to an L if I reordered.
I just purchased my third Vintage Flannel Nightgown. The fabric is sturdy, yet soft and comfortable. It is well made and runs true to size. There is no binding through the shoulders, and the lower part of the gown is nice and roomy. I wash on cold and tumble dry on low, so no problems with shrinking either.
