I wish I could just wear this all the time and never take it off! I absolutely love it. I love the length ( I am 5'9") so gowns usually come just below the knee, but this comes just below mid calf on me. I love how roomy it is. I love the softness and the beautiful stitching. It washes well. Since it fits so perfectly I hang it to dry and it is perfect. I always worry about 100% cotton shrinking so I line dry just about all of my cotton things. This gown is wonderful quality and worth every penny!
I asked my husband to get me this for Christmas. When I opened it, I thought it was really pretty. I loved the color (red) and the design. But when I took it out of the package it felt very thin and not like warm, plush flannel. I call it faux flannel. It felt like the flannel nightgowns I've worn for years that are becoming thin. As much as I wanted this nightgown to work for me, I ended up sending it back.
Absolutely love the nightgown - color, fit, length, and fabric. But after wearing it for less than 1 week, the seam connecting the front buttons to the nightgown split. This was a very obvious tear, requiring an immediate repair - for appearance and to prevent the fabric from unraveling. I do not expect to repair a garment after such minor wear, especially not one from LL Bean. I would still recommend this to a friend because it is exactly what I wanted, but I would warn them to be prepared for the almost immediate need for mending.
This is a really well made and comfortable nightgown, but it is in no way flannel!! I have dish towels made out of the same type of fabric...kind of linen and cotton blend. It is NOT warm and cozy as one thinks of a nice flannel piece. It would be nice for spring or fall, but is not working in the cold northeast right now. I would have sent it back, but will keep it for the spring if it ever gets here again! I should have listened to the other reviewers. Way too much money for something that is not as advertised.
