I love this gown. I got one for Christmas and am ordering another. I don't want to wear anything else. The fabric is beautiful and the pin tucks are perfect. This is a lighter weight flannel than you might find on, say, a tightly woven shirt. However, as a seamstress, I don't see how you could make this gown out of a heavy weight flannel. It has 14 pin tucks on each side of the front placate, a heavy flannel would not lay down nicely since they are stitched quite close together. The decorative weaving in the fabric is hard to see in the picture, but it does remind me of a fancy cotton "ticking" from days of old. One thing it definitely is not is scratchy or stiff. It's roomy and doesn't choke you even when buttoned up all the way.
I love this product. I bought two gowns last year and one several years ago. Although the flannel is not as thick as it used to be, these gowns are wonderful. The gowns are warm to sleep in. The gown I purchased several years ago is still in great shape after all these washings. It has no flannel left in it, so I use it as a cotten summer gown. This material really lasts! I am ordering another gown this year with the newer colors. Well worth my money..
My favorite Christmas gift. Style, fabric, construction and solid detailing. Pin tucks are perfect, with pattern matching; also at back neck for a few inches. Seams surged. Fabric resembles lightweight twill, brushed to flannel. Pattern woven in fabric. Well made factory garment.Soft, warm, I won't want to take it off.
