Wow! Was the fit of this gown a stark contrast to the 'cozy sleepwear nightgown ruffle' I'm sending back because it was too snug in the hips. This gown, which I ordered in the same size as the ruffle gown, is voluminous, almost too much so. I like the detail & the ease of the fit, & the fact that there's no big, bulky collar around the neck, but the fabric is definitely not what anybody would call flannel. I'd read the reviews before ordering & decided to give it a try in spite of warnings that the fabric isn't traditional flannel; since I like the fit & the design I'm keeping it anyway but wish it were heavier.
These nightgowns are the 4th and 5th nightgowns I have ordered from LLBean that are the Exact same. My first gown is well over ten years old and is just now wearing out! I have seen a lot of reviews that say these nightgowns are not flannel. They aren't flannel like the cheap flannel gowns offered for sale elsewhere, but whatever material they are, they wear like iron, keep me very warm and comfortable and I would wear one everywhere in the winter if I could...
This is the third of these nightgowns I've had. I think the first was around 2010. I ordered this latest one before I read the reviews and then was a little worried by the negative ones. But when I nightgown arrived I was very happy. It's the same very cozy old-fashioned nightgown I love. The fabric is good. The fit is good. I'm very satisfied.
I just received this lovely nightdress in blue and I'm so happy with it! The color is lovely, the fabric is soft and the cut is full and generous without making a girl look dowdy or fat! Really seems to be of another time or century. The pin tuck detailing is very flattering. Quite the cozy nightgown for winter in the mountains. Runs roomy, so you might consider ordering a size down. However, if you are like me and appreciate yards of cozy fabric to cuddle up in, order true to your size. I bought this one on sale, so it was quite a deal. Very much recommend!
