It's not sexy or adorable...but it is durable, soft, warm, comfortable and worth every penny (a good use for your coupons or gift cards). I bought my sister one years ago (she loves it) and finally got one for me (I love it, too). It is not flimsy, but a substantial weight and hasn't shrunk in the dryer. I can wear this around the house on winter mornings or evenings without a robe, not have to crank up the heat, and still be warm. I like the vintage look of the style and fabric. And the flannel is not the scratchy stuff you get these days, it is soft like your favorite old snuggly shirt. There isn't anything about this that needs to improve.
I absolutely love this gown. It is thick, soft, warm and cozy. I got mine as an early Christmas present for myself and in the 2 1/2 months I have had it, it has been washed alot! All of the other gowns are sad in the drawer because this is the only one I want to wear. I like that it is all cotton; the fabric is REAL flannel; it is sturdy and is holding up well. It does run very large and I would like it just a bit softer. However, it is soft enough and I think that if it were softer, the fabric quality would be compromised. I will be ordering another one...but in a size smaller.
I now have three of these nightgowns and would wear them night and day if I could get away with it. Contrary to other opinions, the fabric is indeed flannel; it's just not the usual (and often cheap) brushed flannel. It's a hardy, soft, comfortable fabric that's perfect for sleeping.
