My family has purchased items from LL Bean for generations--we know we can always expect value and quality for our money; unfortunately, this item (as well as the Mission Entertainment Stand) were the only two items we ever purchased that did not meet these standards; i.e., finish was terrible and looked like it hadn't even dried before the manufacturer boxed the item; some of the holes didn't line up and so assembly was not user-friendly; etc. Fortunately, LL Bean was great about my returning the item.
Just received our mission corner unit. My 16-year-old daughter and I put it together in about an hour. As long as you read the instructions all the way through BEFORE you begin, and pay CAREFUL attention to correctly identifying the parts, it will assemble quite easily. We had one small problem with a minor piece of missing hardware, and Bean made it right with one quick phone call.
