This is a well designed, well constructed, solid wood entertainment stand. It took me and a friend about 1.5 hours to put together. The directions were mostly clear although the resolution of the pictures in the directions could be improved. There was a very small chip in one of the triangular side pieces which unfortunately faced the front and it appears that the packing straps (or something) marred the top of the stand putting a small dent on the front side. A dark color putty stick solved both problems easily and the stand looks great. I got the dark stained version and it was much darker than on the website, but still looks good. All-in-all a pretty good value.
We received our Mission Corner Entertainment Stand today. It arrived in perfect shape. It was a breeze to build. My wife and I had it finished in less than 45 minutes. It looks great and is constructed extremely well. The only thing missing was some type of pads under the feet. We put stick on felt strips so that it wouldn't scratch the floor.
Our daughter just bought her first home and she was looking for a corner style TV stand. They are harder to find. She and her husband are great fans of some other furniture stores, but this time she saw the LL Bean corner unit and asked me to pick it up if we saw it. I found one in the Rehoboth Beach Outlet Store that was already put together, didn't have a scratch on it and was reasonably priced. It is so much better quality than any of the other units they looked at, fits perfectly in a corner, and has a lot of room for photographs or CDs, DVDs on the side shelves. Unit is hexagonal shape, so it doesn't touch your walls in the corner. Lots of room for wires and plugs. Looks rich in the dark oak finish.
The stand is gorgeous; it fits perfectly into my living room and coordinates beautifully with my other mission furniture. However, I too had a flawed stand upon arrival (bumped about in shipping I presume) and LL bean refunded my extra shipping costs. Another concern- The top of the stand now has a foot and a half long crack down the middle where the hardwood boards are pressed together. I would recommend keeping your TV in the center of the stand to avoid unnecessary stress (to it and you). While I'm not convinced its my 19 inch TV's fault that the stand cracked, I have centered mine more just in case. I think for what I paid, I did well, but with its new (much) higher price, I would guide you to be picky when getting yours. :)
