Simply the best!
PostedJanuary 7, 2009
These boots were bought for my teenage grandson who loved everything about the looks, color but most of all the warmth! My husband already has them and gave them a 5* rating. Said his feet are never cold or wet. They have a removable liner if they did get wet so they would dry out and not get smelly~You can't go wrong here.

true to size

These boots are substantial, have a good tread for slippery snowy/shushy/icey conditions. Size is true and toe box is plenty big. These boots appear to be good for decades of use.

Looks great...
PostedDecember 2, 2008
Unfortunately, the best I can say about these boots are that they look great. I was prancing around the house like a little boy when I first got the boots, I called them my paratrooper boots.
When I started walking in them outside, the biggest problem became clear. The upper rim of the boot, rubs against my shin and causes extreme discomfort. I wore really thick socks, and even added my own shin padding, however, after about an hour of walking I'd get home to sore (sometimes bruised) shins.
From what I can tell, the reason was that the boot was so utterly stiff and not designed to the proper shape of a human foot, that it wouldn't flex completely/correctly as I walked, therefore pushing against my shins and bruising them. You'd understand what I mean better if you opened up a side view picture of a human foot/lower leg, and then looked at the picture of this boot form a side.
Our legs get narrower closer to the ankle, yet the boot's widest part is the average human legs narrowest part. Which is what makes these boots look so great in the first place; unfortunately it is what makes them so uncomfortable for wear.
To the boot's credit however, I managed -25+ Celsius weather for over 2 hours at a time without the slightest hint of getting cold toes on several occasions. I'm now using a different pair of boots from LL Bean.

winter warmer boots H & B
PostedApril 22, 2008
The boots were oversized. I ordered and received the right size and they were 2 sizes 2 big. The liner slipped out and the boots hurt my leg when I walked, This is not like LL Beam, usually they have very good quality. I have a different pair from LL Beam and I love them. I feel they will discontinue them soon.
