Ragg Socks,
March 7, 2010
By
BarkingDogsfrom Winamac, IN
"These are very nice warm wool blend socks. I like that they're made in the U.S.A. The seams are thicker than I like; I like seamless socks, or ones with the seams on the outside. To remedy this, I wear some socks inside out. I like to sleep in warm socks on cold nights; seems to help me stay warmer."

Wool Blend Ragg Socks,

"These Socks are advertised to fit size 8-12. They are too small for a size 10. The socks have ridges that are uncomfortable to wear. I do not recommend this item"

"Socks are warm and soft.
One of the seams does not run straight across? It is uncomfortable- is this a defect?"

"Less than expected",
February 27, 2010
By
LLBean01from New Rochelle, NY
"A heavy weight sock which runs small from the start. I'm a size 8 and the medium socks were small. The toe stitching on one pair in particular was bulky. Felt like a rope across the toes. Washed once and followed instructions. They shrunk. Returned item"

"I have been wearing these socks since the early 80's. Thry wear well, function well in a New England winter and are so good you don't have to wear slippers. Sounds crazy but when I put them on my feet just feel darn happy....."

doesn't get any better than this,
February 13, 2010
By
KeneBfrom Harrisburg, PA
"I purchased 10" length and 12" length. I found the 12" length is perfect for me. I would not recommend the 10" if you use them for work. I work outside in the snow and cold weather. They covered the thermal underwear with no problem. However, the 10" gave me a problem of not covering the thermals well. My feet were warm. I am very much satisfied."

Wool-BLend Ragg Socks,
February 10, 2010
By
Doxiefrom Saint Paul, MN
"I ordered these socks to wear at night when I sleep. Yes, they do keep my feet warm. But, I have to say I am greatly disappointed in the quality of construction of these socks. The toes are simply sewn with a flat seam at the end of the sock. The sign of a quality sock is one that has no detectable and annoying bulky toe seam. You have to constantly arrange the sock so the seam does not get in the way. If the toe was actually woven into the sock and not just cut and sewn in the crude manner that these are sewn they would be excellent socks. I would not order these again or recommend them to anyone. I especially would not recommend them to anyone who does not just wear these to bed. To put a shoe over a bulky uncomfortable thick toe seam would be just asking for major foot/shoe discomfort."

Great socks,
February 7, 2010
By
JamesCfrom Torrington, CT
"I'm a confessed sock nut. I love a good pair of feet warmers. I purchased 6 pair of these three winters ago. They have been through every kind of storm and weather here in New England - I do a lot of hiking. They have been washed dozens of times and you know what - they still look and feel great. Hardly any piling. Good color retention.
Just a side note, I wash them inside out and let them air dry. One should really do that with all socks - if you want them to last."

Well made- strong oily odor,
February 2, 2010
By
miramichishopperfrom Miramichi,NB
"Very well made socks but have a strong oily odor. An internet search revealed that some companies use petroleum products to manufacture their wool...this may explain the odor. Suggestion to LL Bean search and use companies that use plant based oil in their wool manufacturing process."

Wool Blend Ragg Sox,
January 31, 2010
By
TnLadyShopperfrom Whitwell, Tennessee
"I bought my husband a new pair of boots for his birthday in November, and gave him this 2-pair set of boot sox for Christmas.
The sox arrived in plenty of time for Christmas, but they were in a plastic bag with no laundry instructions. I washed them with my regular laundry on warm wash/cold rinse; and after 2 or 3 washings they ended up measuring only about 6" from the heel to the top of the sock. This happened with both pairs. They are very well-made and very warm; but I could have used some laundry instructions, folks!"
