This is a well made, heavy wool sock for a hiking or snow boot. I found the thickness of the fabric made it unsuitable for an every day shoe. The wool is quite coarse and washing with a fair amount of fabric softener did not seem to soften or smooth the wool fibers.
I just ordered a second set of these socks. They are thick and keep my feet warm when other socks fail to do so. I also wear them as slippers around the house in the winter. I expect the wool to make them last for a very long time.

Before I bought these socks, I constantly complained that the fit of my boots was too wide, and that my toes were cold. After wearing these socks, my boots fit perfectly, and my feet are warm. These socks came right on time for this crazy winter we've been having.
