I just love these socks! They are warm and comfortable. I wear them as slippers and they fit just great in my snow sneakers and other boots. They don't itch as some wool socks do.
I have looked for warm wool socks for a long time, frequently finding the hard seams in the toes uncomfortable or the finish itchy. I tried two pairs of these and recently purchased six more pairs, for a variety of colors. They have become my everyday winter socks. Great for indoor sandals and outdoor hiking shoes or boots, they also serve for more formal dress as well. I have not put them through the dryer. They hang dry very well, keeping their shape and smooth, soft finish. Good socks for a cold bed, too!
I've not been able to find these socks in a 16" length anywhere else. I've been ordering ragg wool socks from LL Bean for over twenty years - and contrary to some other reviewers, I note no difference in wear or quality. These are great and - one of the few things sold by LL Bean that are still made in the U.S. - contrary to 10 to 20 years ago. Warm, Comfortable, Great Colors, and Durable. I ordered four pair last winter and two more this winter.
