They wear out in the heel in one season each year.
I buy more because they are such a good sock apart from that. I really like the feel of these socks. Why not reinforce the heel ? The rest of the sock is like new and the heels all get holes in a few months. Do not like to throw them away and am thinking of using one old sock to repair others at the heel. The extra height option is stellar.

I buy a lot of clothes from LLBean and usually love my purchases. Since you requested a review of items purchased I decided to respond to my purchase of the wool socks. I have been buying these socks for years and have been disappointed at how the quality has deteriorated. I still have some from 15 years ago in my rag basket and the thickness of that sock compared to what you sell today is quite different. The older socks lasted for years. I am lucky if the new ones last for one season.
