I purchased these for myself and gave a pair to my 89 year old mother. We both love them! They are warm, not at all scratchy and wash very well. I would definitely ordered more of these.
Almost 40 years ago ragg socks were de rigueur for hiking and backpacking but they would shrink easily and wear thin spots quickly.
These are far superior for those who want a traditional sock; they recover their shape in the dryer without shrinking. Not as cozy as modern merino wool socks but the tallest ones are perfect for higher Maine Hunting Shoes.
Highly recommended for those who like traditional outdoor clothing and the price is a bargain.
I LOVED these when they arrived. I ordered 2 pairs, then another 2 pairs right away because they kept my feet so cozy. Not scratchy at all. However, by the end of the winter (worn heavily but in rotation with hiking-type wool socks) all of them developed holes in the ball of the foot. I still wear them sometimes with a lighter sock underneath, but I'm very disappointed that they didn't last longer.
I'm very happy with the wool blend ragg socks, and definitely will be ordering more! They are good quality and substantial without being too thick to fit in my shoes. Warm all by themselves, I don't need slippers to be comfortable around the house.
