These socks are very comfortable and durable. They keep my feet warm on my daily commute to work in our Southern California chilly fall and winter mornings without overheating my feet!
I have bought these socks in past years and was very pleased with them. However, this year I bought several additional pairs and I am very unhappy with them because they shed large quantities of lint every time I wash them, requiring that I clean out my washer and dryer by hand after each washing.
Even after washing with cold water in a top loading washing machine using ordinary washing powder, the socks did not 'pill' or shrink. For almost fifty years, I have hand washed woollen garments in warm water using wool wash powder. This time, against my better judgement, I followed the LLBean advice of machine washing the socks. They were line dried in Australian sun.
