I'm glad I ordered the next size up (XL), with a size 10 1/2 boot, the XL size is just right. I would say they run small. I bought these to wear with my llbean boots, and they do the job perfectly. I have similar socks in all cotton, and these are twice as warm at least. I can't seem to take them off, they are comfortable around the house too! I got the Navy Multi color. I would buy more of these. I was happy to read the label too MADE IN THE USA!!
I purchased these for my son, who, the first time he wore these socks, came inside and pronounced them "perfect!" He likes to be outside a lot, even when it is very cold. We have a wind-chill of -10 today and he was bundled up and out shoveling snow. These socks inside his boots kept his feet warm. He usually itches in response to wool, but finds the merino wool soft. I have just ordered 4 more pairs for him. Thanks, LLBean, for another fine product!
I purchased my first pair about 15 years ago at the Freeport store and have purchased more than 2 dozen pairs since then. I even wear them during the summer for hiking and sometimes at the gym. A great sock, comfortable and it wears very well. I prefer the 12" and my grandson has confiscated my 10". Will be buying more for him soon.
