I hate to say it, but these socks are actually too soft. I was hoping for the sturdy, solid sock I had gotten years ago. These are not even close. After I've worn them for a few hours I just can't wait to take them off. I've read reviews that say they shrink in the wash. I was hoping I could wash them and they would tighten up a bit, but no luck. I've washed them in hot water and run them through the dryer. I still don't like them. I adore my old socks. These don't even come close. Probably the only product I've gotten from LLBean that I haven't loved.
I agree with the previous reviewers that these socks are no longer the quality product that I loved when I started purchasing them several years ago. The size I've been buying all along no longer fit as it once did, colour options are not what they were, quality is nowhere near what it was - they shrink in the wash and holes form on the heels and toe seams quickly. I never had to send pairs back until last year. This turn of events just makes me very sad. I won't be buying them for myself or others anymore.
These socks have changed. Sizing is too small, height is too short and they quickly shrink and become too tight. Too bad as these have been my favorite socks for many years. Will no longer buy them unless quality is restored.
The Rag sock has taken a cut back and it shows. They shrink too easily and they are to short going up the leg AND too short in the sock size as well. It's too bad they don't make them like they use to.
