I needed some dark/black socks and since my favorite Cresta socks don't come in dark colors, I decided to give these a try. They are warm, loose and the seam at the toe is pretty thick. I'm going to keep them, because I need them, and maybe I'll put them in the dryer for a spin the next time I wash them. The wool is very nice, and not itchy. But that seam would make these not suitable for long walks.
I bought these hoping for a good sock on a future trip to Alaska. So disappointed. Seams are horrible. Not form fitting around the toes. The seam is long on top of the toes, it ends up going under toes also. Tried to use a sock liner but that didn't help. I could still feel the rubbing from the seams :(
I ordered the XL after reading the reviews. The socks were labeled XL and came with a tag that said "fits mens shoe 12-15" yet, these fit my women's size 10 feet perfectly. The socks are classic and a great option to wear with boots that have room for a thick sock.
Be sure to order your size carefully. These would never fit my husband's men's size 13 feet.
