I got these socks for my 2 college-attending sons to keep them warm walking and biking around campus. They absolutely love them! They are not overly thick, so they can wear them a lot. Not scratchy, either, which is a concern since one of my boys has very sensitive skin. I would definitely recommend them.
I have bought MANY, MANY pairs of these socks over the last 40 years or so and never had a problem. This latest purchase is not true to size: the turned heel does not reach the heel of the foot. Also, the body of the sock twists; it does not lie flat which is a sign of poor construction.
I have purchased these for the last 5 years. Wear them year round and for summer, they prevent sweating and wet feet, wicking away the moisture. Winter use with my boots and my feet are toasty warm. I prefer the 12" but, now that I have circulation problems, I wish they came in loose top. I have to stretch out until the elastic breaks so they are 'loose top'. I will not stop purchasing this great sock. My 12 year old grandson has 'borrowed' some from me and forgot to return them because they are so comfortable. Thank you LL Bean for a great item. Look into the possibility of loose tops. I have friends who are diabetic and wish they could wear these great socks. I have suggested they break the top as I do.
Every year I purchase your merino wool socks for my son-in-law's stocking. He loves them and always is happy to find them! He says no one gets him nicer, more comfortable socks.
