Really liked them initially, then I washed them. sorry but these socks should not have a even a tiny hole on the toe seam after just one wash and 15 minutes on a dryer on medium setting.
Not worth returning, but not excited about sewing them up, either.
I ordered additional pairs of these socks, and find that the ones with stripes have a more raised and annoying seam at the toe area compared to the solid colored version. I wonder if anyone else finds this to be the case.
I put these in the washer (inside out, cold water) and dryer (tumble dry, low), and they did not shrink at all. This is great, because I LOVE these thick socks. They are not itchy at all (and I am usually very sensitive to wool), and just encompass my foot and leg in a secure warmth that feels massage-like. The 12" is a perfect length. Nicely made too. Bought three more pairs because can't be without them. One oddity: I wear a size 10 shoe, and I needed an X-large in these. I wonder why they make them so small. Thank goodness I read the other reviews and knew to size up.
