I have worn these socks for over twenty years, bought a couple of dozen pairs at least and had always been happy with them until now. These socks are shockingly small. I ordered the medium, then the large, then the extra large. Every pair I received was too small. The extra large was two inches smaller brand new than an old pair of LL Bean wool socks I've been wearing, and washing, for over ten years. I am returning the socks I have not tried on. I wear a size 9/Eur 40, my foot is not that big. I will look elsewhere for socks. It is a pity because these socks are a quality product, but they are sized for children....
LL Bean advertises XL socks as size 13-15. I have a size 14 foot and most of the socks I have bought from you do not fit comfortably. I feel pressure throughout the foot as well as the toes being jammed into the front of the sock. If I want toe room the heel area has to be lower than its intended position. Please either have the manufacturer make the socks larger to accurately reflect the correct size or list your socks as L and forget the XL 14-15 category. It is not accurate.
