I ordered these in both the gray and the brown in size medium. I wear 7.5 in ladies shoes and the medium fits perfectly. I did notice a difference between the two colors. The gray ones are softer and smoother than the brown, which are a bit rough. They are very substantial socks!
Having ordered 9 or 10 previous pairs, I expected the recent order to be the same as others, which were all quite good. However, these pairs were each 9", not 10", and both pairs shrank when washed in lukewarm water, unlike all previous pairs. I think this package was one notch below L. L. Bean's high standards.
I bought 3-pair. They are comfortable and warm. However, I washed and air dried the socks. Three of the socks shrank. I can still wear them but they are now VERY snug.
I am to say the very least DISSAPOINTED with this sock with the amount you spend on the socks they should last at the very least a few months of heavy usuage.
My husband has worn them only a few weeks and the seems across the toe have let go and the socks are falling apart as well as the bands on the top the seems have started to seperate only on 1 sock so far. Not what I expected form a ll bean product very upset
