I brought the Merino Wool Ragg Sock in the color gray for my dad. Socks are true to its size and super comforty. I purchased this item during the $10 promo so essentially I only paid 9.95 for two pairs of socks.
I ordered the rag socks a size larger as suggested and they are way too big. I see that there is a $6.50 shipping charge for the return unlike what one of the reviews said. Also they did not shrink as much as the ones I bought last year. I will keep the socks and give them to someone with larger feet.
Sales Rep said Size M. Product Specialist said Size M. Reviews said "Buy L-A-R-G-E-R". I compromised and ordered Size "L."
Just received them, appear as though they will be toasty warm when Old Man Winter is in the depths of his strength, HOWEVER, when washed, since they are wool, they are going to shrink even if gently washed SO back to LLBean they go for an XL size--grateful that LLBean is paying to and from shipping charges so all I am involved in is the time spent sending them back and of course initially being disappointed because they aren't a "one-time" effort purchase. LLBean--GOOD PEOPLE! !
Hi. I knit and am familiar with wool. I buy machine washable wool and it NEVER, EVER shrinks no matter how many washes it goes through. I submit that this wool here is adulterated in some way, which causes it to shrink. LLBean should look into this, since customers should NOT have to come up with ways to avoid shrinkage ie. buying huge sizes or not washing them at all. Again, truly machine washable wool will not shrink. Not ever.
