I bought this tote specifically to use as a carry on while flying. (We had shipped our luggage.) The tote was perfect, just perfect. The medium size allowed us to carry all our overnight articles including an notebook with plenty of room, and the zipper kept everything in as we placed it in the overhead compartment. Even though I had the bag initialed the turn around time for the bag was just a couple of days. You just cannot beat LLB customer service or products.
This bag has been a part of my family since 1972, when I purchased it on Nantucket Island. The handles have JUST started to show some wear and tear. The body of the bag in STILL intact after serving as faithful travel companion for 43 years, toting everything from beach towels and suits,to children's needs, books to the library, and food items, (that have leaked, by the way) and it has maintained it's shape and integrity through it all. My husband recently purchased me a brand new one with my initial on it..just because he is tired of looking at the old one. The 'old' one is now sitting gracefully in it's old age under a side table in my family room..still serving me as the keeper of yarns..I love this bag.
I carried this tote in Europe for a long vacation. I took it over flat in my suitcase, then filled it with souvenirs and put it in the overhead bin as a carry on when we flew home. It was heavy with gifts!! It looks brand spanking new! I love the zipper to keep everything inside and the long handles to carry over my shoulder.
