I received this bag a few years ago as a Christmas present from a coworker. Although I have bought LL Bean products before and have been very pleased I never considered this bag. It is fabulous and by far the best work gift I have ever gotten! I use it for everything: the market, hauling stuff to my parents, the beach you name it. It's durable, washes well, holds a lot of stuff and people love it. I'm going to the beach in a few weeks and its been on my list to get another for far too long.
I just bought the extra large boat tote. With three young very active boys this is perfect. The extra large is very very roomy. It does NOT however, have pockets anywhere. This is the only bad thing. A small inside pocket for a wallet and keys would have been key..not sure why it was left out in design. Oh well. Again, great bag. It got dirty, wiped it down with a baby wipe - dirt is gone and no residual stain whatsoever.
As a teacher, I carried the standard tote for 24 years. It was put to the test with very heavy loads nearly every day. It continues to serve me after retirement; how can one part with such a reliable friend. Thanks LLBean for keeping the jobs in the U.S.A! Thanks American workers for providing us with quality work!
I needed something to throw stuff in for the gym so I ordered the small tote and had it embrodiered with my name. I received this last week and love it. It is bigger than I thought it would be. I almost went with the med. but am glad I stuck with the small it is the perfect size for what I was needing. It was a lot stiffer than I had thought it would be too but thats ok. I am extremly pleased with this tote. I plan on ordering another one soon.
