Since I don't carry totes over my shoulder and I'm only 5'3" tall, the choice of a shorter strap is excellent. My only complaint is that it lacks internal and external pockets. If it had those (as well as a key fob) it would be perfect to use as a bag for work.
I got this bag as a gift a few yr back. It's super durable w/the handles being very carefully secured. I use it mostly for shopping when you can bring your own bags to the groc stores. The reason: it can hold tons of stuff and the handles don't pull out. I have also put it through the laundry several times and let it air dry. I love this bag, and do even take it garage saleing, and to the beach. It holds allot, as I got the bigger one. My dog, pekingese, loves to get in it too!
I've only been carrying this bag for about five days, and the fabric is beginning to fray in several spots. Not doing anything especially vigorous with it, either so I'm not sure how it would hold up to more adventurous activities. A little disappointed with that. But I do like that it stands up on its own.
