Just buy the bag. It is perfect. I have loved using this (large, open top, dark green with monogram) tote SO much. Extremely sturdy. I threw it in the washer and it came out completely fine. It has been everywhere with me and can hold a surprisingly large amount of weight (I use for textbooks occasionally).
Beautiful bag that I know I will have for many many years to come- or until I have to change my monogram. You will not be disappointed.
I usually order the large no zip, for new moms, monogrammed, with baby's name. I think you always need another bag, no matter that you carry your diaper bag, there is so much else to bring along. So far all the mom's I've given one to, have told me over and over again that they are using it along with their diaper bag, and when you don't need that any longer, you use it to take things along with you to Grandma's place or the overnight sitter's house, and on and on. Great quality, lovely presentation for the parents. Highly recommend this one.
I wanted to purchase a bag to take to the beach. I was debating between the large and extra large with handle. I did an online chat with a rep and he guided me through the details. I ordered the large and so glad I did ! It is the perfect size for a day trip to the beach. I think the extra large would've been too big for my needs. I love the long handles ! The material is really heavy and sturdy. I would recommend this to anyone ! Once again, you never fail to disappoint me LLBean.
I originally purchased the medium bag to coordinate with my oldest son's basketball team colors. The medium allowed me to tote home school books and all sorts of items I could use to keep me busy while waiting between games. And the medium worked great for that, toting large books.
My youngest son participates at a different school so that means new bag with new colors. I decided to go for the small bag. Its great for holding paper back books, but not large home school books. I mainly use it as a large purse. I do wish I had gotten the medium for large books, cameras (SLR types), water bottles, etc. Either way I'll make it work, or I may wait for a sale, coupons, & some extra $$ and splurge and get a medium bag with blue colors.
