The small size tote with long handles fits my school books perfectly. There is room for one/two texts, one notebook and extra space for my pencils and calculator. The long handle fits over my shoulder perfectly. An interior pocket would be a nice addition.
I've got various sizes of the Boat and Tote including two of the extra large. I love using the extra large totes to carry all the stuff we need when we go to the beach. The large totes are great for general use and my wife likes the medium totes for use as a purse. The canvas on these totes are so rugged, I can't see them wearing out until years down the road.
I already have a bunch of the open boat/tote bags that I use all the time for grocery shopping and carting vacation stuff - they're so sturdy they stand up by themselves making loading them up a piece of cake So I ordered a few zip-tops in different sizes for shopping at the mall - I like having the option of zipping-up the bag. I keep at least 1 in the car at all times, and now rarely need to use the store's plastic bag
