Very sturdy. A bit larger (for small) than I imagined. I should have paid more attention to the word "bright" purple as I would have preferred it a little darker. The monogram was very nice. The stitching was a little "messy" at the ends where the straps come out - but overall it is very practical and useful.
I love these bags!! I have two XL with small handles that my fiance and I use as laundry hampers. They are stiff canvas, so they stay upright, they look great, and they're perfect for schlepping to the laundromat. I also have a large zip top with long handles that I use for weekend get aways and at the beach. I'm thinking of springing for a medium to use as a tote bag for school. These are hands down the best item offered by LLBean, a true classic.
This tote really stands up to tough use. I have several in different sizes. I used them for everything - carrying groceries, my art supplies, going to the beach, and more. In short, I beat these bags up on a regular basis. My oldest tote is 5 years old and looks almost as good as the day it arrived. I especially love the extra long handle option - it's so much easier and more comfortable to carry the tote on my shoulder.
These totes are made so well - from the heavy canvas to the strong stitching. And I love that you can customize them is so many ways.
