I purchased this open top tote in small,med and large! I chose the light blue and had the word "Breathe" embroidered on it by LL Bean, I gave the large to a teacher and use the med and small for needlework and get compliments every time I take it out with me. This tote is sturdy enough to stand up on its own,and the open top allows the yarn to flow smoothly as I am working. They are roomy and durable and I would not hesitate to purchase this item again.
This is the best tote that I (ahem, my boyfriend) owns. I bought this as a birthday gift, but upon taking it out of the packaging to wrap it, I could feel that it was a bag that I needed to get for myself.
The canvas is sturdy, the bag stand by itself. My other canvas totes are limp and sickly by comparison. When the bag is full and rather heavy, the straps rest comfortably on my shoulder, rather than cutting into the shoulder like more flimsy totes tend to do as they strain under the weight.
I bought the medium one in 1985 and STILL carry it to work every day! It's a bit ratty, but it's still strong, and has many years of work still in it. It's great for carrying lunches, wallet, and errand notes, etc. Also perfect for those short trips into the grocery when only a few things are needed! OUTSTANDING!
I love these totes! I have a large and an extra large tote that both zip ontop so no items fall out. I use the extra large tote to fit 3 beach towels, beach toys, and anything else I need for the beach! It holds A LOT! The Large tote is great for a weekend away to fit your outfits and shoes for 3 days.
