I bought my first "Bean bag" (aka Boat and Tote Bag) to use as a diaper bag when my son was born in April 1975. It's still going strong and now being used as a library book bag. I bought bags with embroidered first names for each of our 6 grandkids. They all love their bags and use them all the time. Earlier this year I decided to treat myself to a smaller bag with my name on it. It's a great size to hold all my coupons, weekly store ads, shopping list, etc. I'm sure it will be around 34 years from now, and probably the first one will be too! I "heart" LL Bean!
I love totes, and of course L.L.Bean's is one of the best. The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars is because the straps are rather short (unless you get one with longer ones, it's better in my opinion) and I prefer totes with a zipper. A great bag.
I first saw this when a friend of mine had it. She told me it was a wedding present - what a great idea! This bag was perfect for Christmas Gifts and recently gave one as a wedding present and another as a "thank you" to a coach. I had to buy one for myself and loved it so much I bought a smaller one to use as a book bag. Everyone who received it wouldn't stop thanking me - thanks for such a great bag!!!
Instead of an Easter basket, my grandson will be getting this tote filled with a kite, bubbles, new watershoes and a toothbrush. Talk about a non-traditional "basket"! I love that he'll get use from this for a long time to come. His mom likes his monogram to help teach him his initials. I may have started a new tradition!
