I read all the reviews prior to purchasing this for my bridal party. I put their names on the bag. Our wedding was in Hawaii and the totes were perfect beach bags. Everyone LOVED them! After I saw how great there were I ordered another one for myself few weeks later and the customer service was wonderful! Thanks LL Bean!
As soon as I drew my name for the Secret Santa at work, I logged in and ordered this tote for my person. I ordered a medium in olive with long handles.
The material is very thick canvas - the bag (but not the handles! lol) is able to stand up and open on its own. The olive color isn't so bright as it was on my monitor, looks closer to the color in the mailed LL Bean catalog.
I ordered the New Wave for my monogramming option, and had "Suzanne" put on the bag. However, I should have gone with New Wave Block as the "Z" in her name is just one of those funky letters in a cursive font.
(P.S. My Secret Santa LOVED her bag -- she said "LL Bean finally got it right with the longer handles!")
I purchased 3 bags and love them all - 2 (med) were for the kids and they are the perfect size for sleepovers and car trips and I bought the largest and it has come in real handy with sports gear - Kids just started wrestling and did not know it would be an all day event @ meets so now we pack all there gear, snacks,and thing to entertain them when they are waiting. It also was great caring sparing gear while they were karate and during all the other sport (soccer, LAX and FH) it held blankets, jacket, snacks and what ever else we might have needed. It's a great all around can get to anything bag.
I ordered 4 of these monogrammed bags for xmas and I misspelled 1 of the names, llbean took the misspelled bag back and replaced the bag and sent me the new one with the correct spelling in time for xmas, thanks for all your help, I will definitely order these bags again, great quality
