I bought the small, zip top, with a long handle in black. I use it as an inexpensive purse for days that I need to carry a lot. Its well made. Monogram is a nice touch. I will probably buy another color for the summer time.
I have several bags from over the years and use them heartily in the summer, especially at the farmers mkt. I am frustrated as you can see in the reviews many people say lengthen the handles. The special order long handle is very long. If they would just lengthen the regular handle even one inch I could use it year round. 2" would be better. I'm slim and I cannot get it over my shoulder with spring or a rain coat. Yes they are practical sturdy and are a good size/ capacity. I really would like to see a change and know that LLBean 'listens' to the reviews.
Not only is this a quality product with amazingly low price-- I ordered it on a Friday afternoon. It was to be monogrammed. It arrived on my doorstep Tuesday morning, perfectly monogrammed, and shipped for free. What more could a customer ask for??? Thanks!
I bought two of the extra large bags a few years ago and use them just about everyday to carry items up and down stairs (I live in a 3rd Floor condo with no Elevator). I also use them to carry groceries up the stairs. When travelling they also come in handy. My bags have been through much wear and tear and they are holding up extremely well and still look new. They are very well made and high quality and I would buy them again in a minute if I need more. Thanks LL Bean for making such a high quality product. Most bags would have torn by now by my use.
