We own all sizes of the Boat & Tote Bags. Some we have bought ourselves, others we have received as gifts. Some are 10+ years old! All of the sizes are practical. The small we use for our dog supplies, medium for my work being carried back and forth to school, the large for carrying gear, and the extra larges go on vacation with us-- they make great beach bags! I have had two great mishaps in the last 6 months, and the Boat & Tote Bags have performed superbly! First, we bought a bottle of port wine and while transporting it home, it was in my car in 100+ degree heat. The cork blew its top, but the Boat & Tote Bag contained the disaster from spreading all over my car. Yesterday, I had a crockpot of black bean soup spill while driving. Again, the Boat & Tote Bag contained the disaster until I reached home and was able to clean it out. A little Tide detergent and a scrub brush, and the bags look like new! Thank you, LLBean!
I followed the advice in a magazine article and bought these, monogrammed, for each member of our family last Christmas. They are lined up behind my couch. I put the belongings of my family members in them as I tidy up. Kids know where to find their "missing" stuff and my living room and hallway look geat! The kids also use them foir weekend travel now...no suitcases to store!
I just started home health nursing and I take one with me every day. The large bag holds a plastic file holder, my BP cuff, stethoscope, gloves..... Other nurses have started copying me!
